Bath Tourism Plus had there annual forum today at Komedia. A good venue if a little dark during the day – the food was good though!
Interesting to hear about what a great city Bath is (as if we didn’t know that already!) and how visitor visits are increasing year on year. So many things are being planned too – Bath in Fashion week, Great British Feast along with all the other regular festivals.
There was exciting news about the renovation of the Cleveland Pools and a presentation from Bath Rugby and the new Apex Hotels MD. All very interesting, all enhancing this great city of Bath and making a great place to live, work and visit!! See Visit Bath Website for all the great details about Bath – and get the new Bath App too!
Had great fish and chips here on Thursday – the place was packed even at 7.30! We had to wait in the pub next door – which wasn’t such a problem! You can’t book but it is definitely worth the wait – not just your usual fish in batter – we had scallops in a shell, fresh herring fillets, great chips and tartar sauce and all washed down with an excellent bottle of Sauvignon Blanc! Great addition to the Bath Restaurant scene. You might want to wait until the excitement of a new restaurant has died down a bit!!
Small Wars – Sadie Jones
Had a successful outing to hear Sadie Jones talk about Small Wars – really interesting lady and some great questions from the Audience. She let on that one of her other books, ‘Outcast’ has been adapted by the BBC for a 2 part autumn drama. Cant wait for that!
Last day of the Bath Literature Festival but as ever a great success with some great authors in town.
We would like to welcome new managers to Ashley Villa Guest House. Lyndsey and Elizabeth.
This experienced British couple have moved back to the UK from Lanzarote where they have been living for the last 20 years! They have fitted in so quickly – and after two weeks they are already getting stuck in to cooking, cleaning, painting, DIY, and all the administration. Well done guys!
